Another walk …

In the morning, Zoe and l went for a walk along the Carnage Village Walk.

All went well for the first half of the walk.

Zoe was really good in the lead

We saw some cows

Another section of track

Then l went into the scrub a little way to take this photo

Zoe wasn’t having this and pulled back and slipped her collar. You think l could catch Zoe and put her back on the collar and lead!

The little f&cker thought it was a game!

So we had to do the last part of the walk with Zoe off lead. Luckily Zoe decided to follow but at her pace and distance.

The road back to Carney.

Then a few photos of some of the scenery in the way back to Emer’s place.

Then looking towards the bay

A home being built

After a rest at Emer’s place I decided head out for another quick walk around Carney while Emer was out.

I made my way along a road heading to a beach somewhere.

A nice stone wall

I was fascinated by how close this house was to the actual road.

Luckily they have a good stone fence! I made it to here before receiving a message from Emer to say she was back home.

I was making my way back to Emer’s place on the road when an elderly lady stopped to offer me a ride. I gratefully accepted a ride back to where l started my walk

Emer then gave me a ride back into Sligo and dropped me off for another wander around. I managed to get myself arrested! Well not really.

I did say to them to pretend they were arresting me. But, they just laughed.

I went back to one of the gentleman’s clothing store to buy myself a cap.

Then l explored another section of Sligo and came across the below.

My old PhD supervisor Dr Love would like this being an old Labour historian. I found my way back to a nice coffee shop for a coffee.

Then l remembered one of the reasons l needed to come in was to find out about the best way to get to Belfast from Sligo. I popped into to Information Centre and asked what’s the best way to get to Belfast. In true Irish humour the gentleman suggested l shouldn’t walk.

When l left he tried his best at saying “have a good day mate” with an Aussie accent. My response was to say “nice try. But not quite right”. He replied with “strewth”! He was almost correct with the accent.

I’m now sitting at the bus stop waiting for the Ballyshannon bus to arrive.

There is a gentleman also waiting for a bus singing an Irish diddy of sorts! “🎶🎼🎶🎵Charlie”. I asked who is Charlie. He replied “Aye, a Councillor. Long dead now!”

He did say that he sings better when he’s drunk! My bus has arrived.

Now back at Emer’s place with Zoe sitting on the sofa with me trying to get back in my good books. I said “Nice try. But, l haven’t forgiven you for slipping your collar”.

Another day on the west coast of Ireland.
