Ireland-2-Turkey 2024

Unfortunately, l failed in my goal of not spending any money in duty free! I did have some trouble finding my flight listed on the departure board.

However, l eventually found out that l needed to be at gate C9.

The international airport in Doha is damn large. After finding the gate l decided l needed a coffee. I paid $10 for a bloody coffee!!!

I can’t believe the security at the airport. They made me throw away the unopened water which was provided to me during the previous flight. I guess this is for security reasons.

However, l started to place in the grey tray the stuff l was carrying on me to go through the X-ray. Only to be told to stop and go through. So, l just walked through carrying my phone, wallet, l still had on my belt and a pocket with coins. I didn’t have to stop just straight through. It really defeats the purpose of having me throw away my water!

I’ve been cleared through and now just sitting back waiting for the next step of boarding.

Boarding was relatively smooth … if you’re going business class and have priority access! I’m in 4B.

Settled in now and heading for the runway.

After a short settling in period we started to make our way to the runway.

Then were started down the runway.

Now settled in for some fine dinning.

Sweet potato and ginger soup for starters.

Followed by nice piece of Angus steak, veggies and salad.

Finally, berry ice cream for desert

Still over five hours to go before arriving in Melbourne.

My head is starting to ache from lack of sleep!

The flight has been great with some turbulence! Just enough to stop you from sleeping despite being all tucked up in the horizontal position.

I caught the Sky Bus into Souther Cross station to catch a VLine train back to Bendigo. One last selfie of me standing near the train.
