Leaving Kas …

I’m leaving Kas at 11am today. It’s been an enjoyable and restful stay. Some insights to work on when l’m home.

One last selfie from my balcony before l leave.

I caught up with Kate for one last tea. Then l was on the road by 11am. One last look back towards Kas and the coast.

The road to Antalya and mountains.

They don’t seem to worry about helmets on motorbikes in Turkey.

A photo of the typical coastline part way to Antalya.

A three wheeler struggling along the side of the road.

Another photo looking towards the sea.

We stopped for Turkish coffee mid way through the trip.

The coffee came in a fancy cup.

It certainly put hair on your chest! A road sign pointing to Antalya.

Another photo of the countryside through the car window.

A typical road sign displaying road speeds for various types of vehicles.

Also, Turkey has speed cameras in operation! A photo showing speed cameras.

A photo looking towards Antalya.

A large ship anchored in the bay.

Then a slow tractor holding up traffic as we entered Antalya.

I’m fascinated by the precarious nature of the 44 gallon drums perched on the top of high rise complexes.

Finally, we arrived at Ema Houses where l’m staying for the night before getting up at 2:30am to head for the airport for my early flight to Istanbul.

I’m in this block first floor! This is my room.

The bathroom is tiny.

The shower is behind the door. I decided to head down to the pool area.

They serve food which l was in need of a good feed.

A photo of a flower in the garden near the pool.

And a photo looking back towards the bar.

I’ll call it a day soon and try and get some sleep. I’m as thinking through the train trip from the airport on the Asian side of Istanbul into the old area. I’m slightly nervous but looking forward to the challenge. More tomorrow …
