It was time to leave my accommodation in Freiburg.. One last look back at where l had stayed the past few days.

It was a cold start to the day with low cloud cover.

It was a short 15 minute walk to the central train and bus station. After another McDonald’s breakfast I went in search of where l’m meant to hop in the bus to Basel l. I found it without much trouble.

The bus arrived ahead of time. pack stowed an I settled in for the trip.

The bus ride was pretty uneventful. A photo of typical countryside along the way.

We crossed a river somewhere on the trip.

Agricultural machinery slowing traffic which is a common occurrence in Australia too.

I saw a lateral irritation system which might have been in France.

I also saw a number of high voltage transmission lines in close proximity to each other.

We eventually arrive at the Euro Airport, Basel.

I had called the hotel l was staying at to organise the free shuttle bus to come and pick me up, after a bit of a wait l received a call from the hotel saying they were waiting for me.
I couldn’t seem them and after a bit more discussion we realised l was waiting on the French side of the airport. They had been waiting for me in the Swiss side. An airport over two countries!!!
I was assured by the receptionist all I needed to do was hop on the green bus No.50 and hop off on the third stop.
I hopped off on the third stop. But l couldn’t find the hotel. So l entered Airport Hotel Basel into Google Maps and set off to the hotel,
Well Google maps had ending up god knows where (and l think even god was uncertain of where l was)! I ended up in what l now call “bum f$&k nowhere”!
I did see a nice building.

Also some insulated pipes

By this stage l though f$&k it where’s a taxi. I finally flagged one down.

It wasn’t long before l was back at where l should have been. I should have hopped in a taxi in the first place.
When l walked in the receptionist did say he wasn’t really sure of the number of stops. FSG lot of good that did me. Anyway, l was finally checked in and went up to my room.

The shower area is a bit small but l’m only there for one night.

I decided to go down to the Hanger 9 Restaurant for dinner.

I quickly tucked into the bread before my main meal arrived.

I had the sea bass which was nice. It was good to get some vegetables in me for a change.

I decided against having a cigar afterwards despite them being for sale.

I finished the evening off with a coffee before heading back to my room to take my usual mix of pills to help sleep.
Unfortunately, they weren’t as effective as l had hopped!
